When someone in our community needs help getting to a life-saving medical appointment, picking up medication, getting groceries after treatment, or obtaining basic essentials like incontinence supplies, The Charis Group steps in to help.
But right now, the need is greater than the funding available.
While Charis has recently received grant funding, much of it is restricted funding — meaning it can only be used for very specific purposes. For example, transportation grants may only reimburse gas costs, while many of the real-life expenses involved in helping people go uncovered. Some medical transport trips can take 12–15 hours in a single day.
There are often additional expenses such as:
• Prescription medications
• Groceries for seniors and vulnerable individuals
• Staying with the person while they undergo surgery
• Incontinence supplies and other daily essentials
• Paying deposits to get seniors into housing
Despite these challenges, Charis continues to put people first — especially seniors, individuals with medical needs, and families facing hardship.
The Charis Group is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the community through compassionate support and transportation assistance.
Today, we are asking the community to partner with Charis so they can continue helping people in moments of real need. Every donation — large or small — helps provide stability, transportation, essentials, and hope to someone who may have nowhere else to turn.
