The Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department mourns the loss of fellow firefighter Jimmy Catha.

Jimmy was a dedicated and hardworking member of our department who gave his time and energy selflessly in service to others. He worked tirelessly to support our department, especially through his efforts in organizing and gathering support for our annual Chili Fundraiser. His commitment helped strengthen not only our department, but our entire community.

Beyond his service, Jimmy found joy in the simple things he loved most — gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind spirit, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him.

Jimmy’s presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.

Words truly cannot express how deeply the Board Members, Firefighters, and Chief appreciate the incredible support from our community, local businesses, friends, and especially our dedicated volunteers who made our fundraiser such a success. “Thank you” hardly feels adequate for the generosity and encouragement you continue to show.

Your support of the Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department allows us to serve not only our community but also our surrounding fire departments when they need us most. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you.

The 2025 Christmas party was a success, despite a few absences tonight. The food was exceptional and the time spent with family and friends made it even more enjoyable. uo

Well , I forgot to record the drawing, but Chandler Freligh won the drawing for the straight wall cased deer rifle.
I guess buying all 25 of dad’s tickets paid off!

It’s time again to pay Fire dues for the period of August 2025 - August 2026.
Arkansas State Law states that members within their Fire district that do not pay their dues may be charged a fee for the provision of firefighting services.
Property owners that fail to pay “membership dues” to the fire department they reside in are prohibited from receiving reduced fire protection rates on their fire insurance.
Support your are departments, especially the volunteer departments, these firefighters do not receive a paycheck for their services. Your dues help the department to purchase fire equipment, turn outs and other items to help them serve their communities and neighboring communities when called.
