A group of teenagers brutally attacked 23 year old drag performer David Manley, who performed as Daelicious. At this time Philadelphia PD has made no arrests. At the hospital, Daelicious was told they may have internal bleeding, but they were sent home with painkillers where they later passed away. We hope the police are working on making arrests, because David deserves justice. Extremism is dangerous… we can’t teach kids to fear or hate what is different or what they don’t understand, or this type of behavior will continue.

Our hearts break for the parents and loved ones of Nex Benedict. Another beautiful life taken from us by senseless violence, bullying, and discrimination. We hope that this tragedy isn’t further exacerbated by a miscarriage of justice.

Never Forget… on this day in 1997 a young man named Brian Deneke lost his life in a senseless act of violence. A hate crime, fueled by discrimination. Because Brian looked different, because he was a punk. His legacy has been immortalized by the film and we as a foundation are committed to remembering Brian and in the coming months will be rolling out some very exciting programs to help teens in Texas that have been victims of bullying or discrimination. #121297

- I remember being a kid and seeing this stuff on TV and feeling like I couldn’t be myself because the adults in my life wouldn’t think it was appropriate. Stifling someone’s creativity or freedom of expression isn’t saving them, it’s hurting them. These day time talk shows that tried to reignite the satanic panic, could have done a great service to us weirdos by making these shows about the simple mindedness of the parents rather than the radical fashion or musical choices of the children.
