Congratulations Chief Kenny on a remarkable career!

**RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT**

The Lacey Township Police Department would like to recognize and congratulate Chief Christopher W. Kenny #71 on his Retirement.

Chief Kenny is a lifelong resident of Lacey Township, where he was a student of the Lacey Township School District, and a graduate of the Lacey Township High School; Class of 1992. In 1998, Chief Kenny earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Stockton State College, and would later go on to earn both a Master’s Degree in 2008 and an Ed. S. Degree in 2011 from Seton Hall University.

Chief Kenny began his law enforcement career with the Beach Haven Police Department, where he served in the capacity of Special Law Enforcement Officer, both Class I and Class II. On May 1, 2000, he joined the Lacey Township Police Department as a Full-Time Patrolman assigned to the department’s Patrol Division. In 2004, Chief Kenny achieved his first promotion to the rank of Sergeant. He remained within the Patrol Division and supervised multiple patrol squads, prior to his assignment in Patrol Services. There, he was in charge of various administrative responsibilities to include the Communications Bureau, Patrol Fleet Management, and Traffic Safety.

In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he supervised the following areas of the department: Patrol Division (Platoon Lieutenant), Administrative Division, Professional Standards, Training Bureau, and Internal Affairs (Deputy Coordinator). In December of 2022, Chief Kenny was ultimately promoted to Chief of Police.

Chief Kenny has served in various roles during his time with Lacey Township Police. He was a member of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, and was involved with the Lacey Township Office of Emergency Management since 2006. At the time of his retirement, Chief Kenny served as the Emergency Management Coordinator. He has stated that it has been an honor to earn the opportunity to lead the Lacey Township Police Department and is especially proud of all the dedicated men and women of this remarkable organization.

On November 29, 2025, a Walk-Out Ceremony was held at Police Headquarters in recognition of Chief Kenny’s commendable career. Chief Kenny conducted his final sign-off in the company of his family, friends, township officials, peers, and co-workers. We would like to recognize the unwavering commitment and dedication Chief Kenny has given to both the Township of Lacey and the Lacey Township Police Department, for the last 25+ years.

Chief, on behalf of both the newly appointed Chief Paul Sullivan Jr. #77, Captain Samuel Della Sala III #82, and the entire Lacey Township Police Department, we congratulate you on an admirable career and wish you the very best in your retirement!

**LACEY PBA 238 JETTY INK MERCH**
Back by popular request!! We are excited to release round two of our Jetty Ink merchandise line (Huge thanks to Anthony Hediger and his team)! This design is a nod to our Coastal and Baymen Heritage. For those who may be unaware, Lacey Township is situated along the coast of the Barnegat Bay and has a storied history as a rich-fishing town. A large part of Lacey Twp's history includes areas such as Island Beach State Park (IBSP) and Tices Shoal, before its inception as a State Park.

The Jetty Ink Merch Store (https://jetty-life.printavo.com/merch/laceypbaapparel/?page=1) is open until December 7, 2025 and offers hoodies, t-shirts, and long sleeve shirts. While purchases are expected to arrive by December 18, 2025, holiday postal delays cannot be controlled. All proceeds will help benefit Lacey Township Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local #238.

Our first round of our Jetty Ink online store in October was highly successful. So much so, that we have received many requests to open another store before the holidays. This merch is available for a limited time, so grab yours while you can! As always, thank you for your support and be well.
