Today our Firefighters not only held our first annual car show at Argos Farm (photos to follow tomorrow).
Some of them also spent the Day training on School Bus Extrication Techniques.
Removing side walls, opening up roofs and displacing steering columns were just some of the skills taught and practiced today to keep us better prepared and equipped for an event of this type.

We are only 6 days away from our 1st. Annual Hot Rods and Hose Lines car show.

Today members of the Forked River Fire Department once again got to participate in Career Day at the Forked River Elementary School.
Our Firefighters are always honored to be a part of this great event.
Although we are an all volunteer department, many of members are current and past career firefighters throughout New Jersey and love to share how being a volunteer opened the doors to their careers.
A special Thank You to Carolyn Jagersky Crepezzi, Eric Fielder and the staff of the school for inviting us to a well organized and fun learning event.
It is always a pleasure to see and talk to the students about being a firefighter.

⚠️ Elevated Risk for the Spread of Wildfires - Tuesday, May 5

US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly has issued a Special Weather Statement for the elevated risk for the spread of wildfires in New Jersey.

There is an elevated risk for fire spread today across Delaware and portions of central and southern New Jersey. Minimum relative humidity values will drop to around 25 to 30 percent this afternoon. This will be accompanied by temperatures rising generally rising into the 80s and Southwest winds around 15 to 20 gusting to around 30 mph. These conditions could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control. Conditions improve during the evening as the wind diminishes and the relative humidity increases.
