The Mohawk Valley Gives campaign is underway (9/14-9/18) in support of local non-profits organizations. If you plan to donate, we hope you will consider directing your contribution to Southwest ADK [https://www.givemv.org/campaigns/southwest-adk-association], or dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environment along the Rt. 28 Southwest Adirondack corridor.

This breathtaking region includes Otter Lake, White Lake, Little Long Lake, Kayuta Lake, and the surrounding forests, streams and wetlands, home to abundant wildlife and a vibrant mix of seasonal and year-round residents.

At Southwest ADK, we believe in the power of community to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. But protecting these waters and lands cannot be done alone. It takes all of us. Stewardship is at the heart of our work. We collaborate with neighbors, partner organizations, and local communities to monitor environmental changes, promote responsible practices, and educate both residents and visitors on how to keep these natural resources healthy for generations to come.

Protecting White Lake means protecting much more than the lake itself.

White Lake ADK Association/Southwest ADK works throughout our area to help protect the environment through:
• Aquatic invasive species prevention and boat inspections
• Clean, Drain & Dry education
• Promotion of the Forestport boat wash station
• Water-quality monitoring and trout stocking
• Advocacy for reduced road salt along the Route 28 Corridor
• Monitoring development that could threaten our environment and communities

During Mohawk Valley Gives, September 14-18, you'll have an opportunity to help support this work. Every gift helps us protect this special part of the Adirondacks for generations to come.
