We are the Foresthill Odd Fellows, and the Odd Fellows Lodge has been a centerpiece for the downtown part of Foresthill since it's creation in 1861.

Fellow Foresthillians:
Heritage Days is coming up on Sept. 12th, and our Odd Fellows Lodge will be open for visitors during the walking tour of Foresthill, from 10AM to 3PM.
Please plan on stopping by to view the inside of this historic building and view our history. We are just one block from the park,
with easy access from the rear of our building, or the more strenuous stairs at the front. Hope to see you there!!

July 4th booth in the park

The Foresthill Odd Fellows again set up their booth in the park for this year's 4th of July celebrations, and it was a great and busy day. Our booth was one of the first ones as people came into the park, so we had great exposure to everyone.
Our bean bag game was a big hit with the kids and many adults too! Of course the free candy and flags were also a great attraction.
Thanks to KW, Loraine, Gary and Brandon for being in attendance and encouraging the kids to play.

Just finished cleaning up the front of the lodge. Can you spot the differences?
If you are not local you may not see them: painted the porch & plywood wall, and moved fence away from the front entry.
Small changes, but every bit helps.

Fellow Foresthillians:
If you've seen the Odd Fellows page or our website, you've seen our request for donations to help repair our Odd Fellows lodge. And yes, we do still need donations! So, feel free to donation what you can. However, what we need more, is physical muscle. Sadly, our membership consists of a few older gentlemen who are approaching the physical limits of our bodies. We desperately need younger men & women who are willing to donate some limited amount of time to help us do many on-going repair items on the lodge. This is usually a week-end work party of a few hours. However, if someone has time during the week, or after work, we would be happy to arrange times that suit your availability.
Some items that need to be done:
- Brick rubble on the front deck needs to be loaded and taken to the dump.
- The small porch on the front of the lodge needs to be painted.
- Sheet metal roofing replaced over the handicap ramp on the rear of the lodge.
- The rear yard needs to be mowed.
- General cleaning of our lodge meeting room.
- We have a bunch of old Odd Fellow books that need to be cataloged and sorted into groups.

Our lodge is over 160 years old and it needed some attention. A very old water line finally rusted thru and was leaking massive amounts of water under the floor of one of the lower retail spaces.
So, the first project was to discover where the leak was. That was fairly easy to determine with a flashlight and crawling around on our stomachs, and seeing water spraying everywhere. Unfortunately, in previous years a former tenant had installed new flooring and completely covered any access to the area under the floor.
Next we had to figure out where to cut a hole in the floor to access the leak. After drilling some pilot holes we found the right spot. Then a hole was cut thru the floor to access the water pipes beneath the floor. A quick inspection revealed that the old steel pipe from the water meter in the street was totally rusted thru and had to be replaced.
Next project was to remove deck boards from the front boardwalk to access the area where the old water pipe was. Then trench down thru all that nice red dirt and replace the old pipe with new PVC pipe. After replacing all that red dirt and boards on the boardwalk,
a new hatch was made for the big hole in the floor. Just another day in the lives of an Odd Fellow in Foresthill!

It Is A Happy New Year AND We Are Still Here!

"We" are your Foresthill Odd Fellows. We are still right here in that uptown two-story brick building on Foresthill Road.
Not only is it a new year for all of us, but it is the beginning of our building’s one hundred sixty fifth year here! - 165 YEARS!!

You may have seen one or two of us doing a little bit of work on that building sometimes, sprucing it up with some white paint
or rearranging the construction fence for our new next door neighbors, The Red Dirt. But much more has been going on behind
our closed doors… Much More!

Helping hands and homespun ingenuity inside has considerably stabilized the slightly weak corner. We are now meeting inside
and it is a special, almost reverent, sensation. We would not have been able to be where we are now, if not for the patient hospitality
of our friends: Patrick’s “MEGAS CAFÉ” and Kelly’s ”HAPPY MOUTH” to put up with us for these past three years. Thank you neighbors!

We’re looking for more neighbors to help carry on this mission. Everyone wants to bring the Odd Fellows building back
to its pioneering glory. Let's redo/renew the brick. Let’s bring back the front patio deck and canopy. And better than that, let’s bring
access and facilities into this 21st Century.

We need more neighbors and more Odd Fellows to carry this on. We’ve looked into setting up a 501c3 non-profit Building Foundation to make this all happen; it is doable. Interested? We’ve been asked many questions from many of you over the years.
We want to show you in person what’s going on and what can be done. We’re fired up and ready to keep things going as we
celebrate this great country’s 250th year and our great town's Odd Fellow Building’s 165th year.
