πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€ We are less than one week away from the start of the Gold Country Fair. Foresthill has a great group of youth that have spent their summer raising their fair animals. We would love your support - stop by to check out their animals if you are at the fair and come check out the livestock auction on Saturday, September 12th. 🐰🐰🐰🐰

We are super excited to announce the first project in the system, Cooking! Kiddos will learn everything from how to make applesauce, fresh noodles, cookies, and grilling, to canning!

Projects that will be added to the system soon are: Swine, Rabbits, and Outdoor Adventures/Camping. We also might have a couple other top-secret projects in the works. Stay tuned!

Kiddos can enroll in as many projects as their schedule allows. As mentioned, the only one available in the system right now is Cooking.

Our monthly Club meetings are usually the second Thursday of each month. September’s meeting is currently being rescheduled due a conflict with the Gold Country Fair. We will let you know as soon as it is rescheduled.

Please reach out with questions.

Welcome to the Placer County 4-H Program, we have approximately 500 youth enrolled in local 4-H programs and nearly 120 adult volunteers engaging youth in varied learning experiences. There are ten clubs in the county. Our mission is to engage youth in reaching their fullest potential while advancin...

Today we mourn the loss of an American icon, a beloved philanthropist and a proud 4-H alumna, Dolly Parton. Her extraordinary life was defined not only by her incredible talent, but by her unwavering generosity, compassion and commitment to helping others.

For generations of young people, Dolly embodied what it means to use your gifts in service of others. From her roots in 4-H to her lifelong investment in literacy, education and community, she showed us that true leadership is grounded in humility, kindness, and purpose. As Dolly once said, "storms make trees take deeper roots." πŸ’š

A proud 4-H alumna, she reminded us that challenges can strengthen us and help us grow. That wisdom will continue to inspire young people and communities for generations to come. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and the millions whose lives she touched. Her legacy of hope, generosity, and service will live on. πŸ€

Foresthill 4-H Club Update for the 2026-27 Year:

4-H is the largest youth development organization in the US, helping kids and teens aged 5 to 19 learn life skills through hands-on projects in STEM, agriculture, civic engagement, and healthy living. We traditionally like to offer a variety of projects to include as many of the kids’ interests as possible. If your kiddo is interested in an animal project, they do NOT need to own an animal to be part of 4-H. Our Project Leaders ensure they include everyone who wants to participate. Currently, we will be starting the year off two for-sure projects: Swine and Cooking.

The Cooking project will begin 9/22. Please be on the lookout for an update on when registration officially opens in the 4-H system.

The Swine project will begin 10/12. Please be on the lookout for an update on when registration officially opens in the 4-H system.

In the works but not yet formally approved is our Rabbit project. The Rabbit Project Leader needs a co-leader for the project – are you interested in rabbits? Want to learn about rabbits? Please reach out if you’re an adult that would be willing to volunteer and help. All projects require two cleared adult volunteers. The last couple of years, we’ve offered a Fishing project as well. The Project Leader for that project is still working on details on whether they can commit this year or not.

4-H is driven by community support. We rely on adult volunteers to step-up and lead projects for the kids. Almost anything can be morphed into an approved 4-H project, so we really encourage the community to help out. Unfortunately, so far, we’ve had little interest from the community in helping. This is your chance to help provide meaningful activities for the youth in Foresthill. Please reach out if you’re an adult that would be willing to volunteer and help.

As the official 4-H year winds down in June, Foresthill 4-H Club will have some dedicated youth working over the summer showing animals and exhibiting items they’ve made this year at the Placer County and Gold Country Fairs. Keep your eyes peeled for spotlights coming up on each of these kiddos and their projects. πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€
