A chess set makes a great Christmas gift for yourself and family and friends!! It's never too late to learn the game and easier than you think!
You can still order a board and set to arrive before Christmas.
A basic board and pieces can be purchased as little as $15.95. There are many sources for purchase from Amazon to U.S. Chess Sales and others.
The more elaborate and decorative sets are more, but still reasonable. Any set can be good for starting out.
As you grow in the game, I encourage you to get a set that has the letters and numbers along the sides to learn notation.
It is also good to get a chess clock to gain practice playing timed games in preparation for playing in tournaments.
Feel free to message me with any questions!!
Come to the Scott County Chess Club next meeting on Jan. 3 (Forest Public Library 9-11 a.m.) and get started!
