SUMMER CAMP COUNCILOR
Reports To: Program Director
Primary Functions:
To provide program opportunities to our customers through teaching, team building games, and other experiences. This position runs from June 28-July 30.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach, supervise, and motivate the youth assigned to your area.
• Offer a quality program that follows state, federal, and BSA safety guidelines.
• Safe use of all equipment and supplies under the leadership of our camp supervisors.
• Follow the directions given to you by your area director.
• Prepare and follow lesson plans for your designated activity.
• Assist as requested in camp-wide events or special unit requests
• Keep an accurate attendance log of classes each day and submit this to your area director weekly.
• Communicate all concerns with your direct supervisor or the Camp Director.
• Assist in the set-up and take-down of campsite facilities
• All other duties as assigned.
Critical Elements of the Position:
• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Must be a role model for staff members and campers.
• Be attentive and cheerful when working with campers and other staff.
• Follows all health and safety guidelines made by the County, State, USA, and the BSA.
• Background checks required.
• Extensive walking and moderate lifting required.
