Our Story

Our journey began in the Summer of 2022 when we received word that our Brother-In-Law, Dan had a medical emergency after working a 24-hour shift as a Spokane Valley Firefighter. His fellow Firefighters managed to restart his heart and he was rushed to the hospital. Due to his heart being stopped, Dan had significant brain swelling and was put under sedation to try to give him time to he

al. The Family was in for a long wait. The support our Family received from Spokane Valley Fire Department was truly amazing. They were there for us 24 hours a day with everything from food to emotional support. This support included a Chaplain and his Therapy K9, Pierce. As we waited for news day after day, we would receive periodic visits from Pierce. As Pierce worked the room, I would see faces full of worry, stress, and grief turn temporarily to peace. Pierce provided a much-needed break for the entire family. After seeing how much Pierce and the fire department helped our family, we decided we wanted to provide K9 therapy services with a passion for serving those who serve others. Tragically on August 4, 2022, Dan passed away. Dan’s Badge number was 348. In remembrance of Dan, we organized a nonprofit therapy K9 service, 348 Golden Angels.

Miss Rayne made an unscheduled Friday visit to the Spokane VA Medical Center. She got to visit with some staff that do not normally get to see her due to their schedules.

The past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions.

Watching as so many of our community members have lost everything but what they could carry then seeing the overwhelming support that this community and people from all over the nation have given.

Being able to spend time with these Firefighters and National Guardsmen has been the most rewarding times of our lives.

As they travel on to their next mission we pray that they all will remain safe!

Mr Levi had the opportunity to spend some time with the children at the Nine Mile Community Kids Day Camp today.

This is an awesome event letting kids decompress from the anxiety created by the Spokane complex of fires.

Special thank you to Chaplain Tracy for inviting us to be a part of this important event.

Miss Mango was back out on the job today but this time she brought Sister Rayne.

The duo accompanied Red Cross members as they delivered donuts to individuals of the 92'nd CES and volunteers at the Emergency Family Assistance Center including Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Army National Guard on Fairchild AFB.

Mango was up bright and early to visit with our Heroes at Fire Camp this morning. This visit was extremely special to us because we got to share this experience with someone very important to us!

Most of you know that we started this Journey in memory of and to Honor our Firefighter Brother in law Dan Patterson after his LODD in August 2022. Well today we had the opportunity to take our biggest supporter and cheerleader, Dan's Mom Sherri on our visit.

We were excited to show her first hand the impact our Angels have on these amazing people we serve. We were very thankful she had this opportunity.❤️

This was probably our last visit to Fire camp as they are packing up and heading to their next fire. We will be forever grateful for having the opportunity to visit with these amazing people who worked so hard to save our community.

Tonight Miss Rayne wrapped up our Disaster Assistance Center visits as this center will be closing this evening.

It was incredible to see so many volunteers, organizations and businesses from all over the Country, come together to support a community that has been through an extremely traumatic event. It was so awesome to see a community put any and all differences aside to support each other.

We are extremely grateful to be invited to share our Angels with those who needed it. Our Angels interacted with hundreds of individuals bringing a temporary respite to a very stressful time of their lives.

We ask the community that when the stories of these fires fade from the news, don't forget those who lost everything, they will be recovering for years.

Spokane County, you should be proud of your response!

The Spokane VA Medical Center is back open and today's visit was very special to us.

These staff members went through a very stressful time on August 1st as the Old Trails fire rapidly approached the Medical Center. We are so happy that these medical professionals were able to safely evacuate all of the patients in their care.

We love visiting the patients at this facility and we are so appreciative of the care these staff members give to our nations heroes every day and are so very thankful that everyone is ok.

We are proud to call them our friends.❤️
