2026 Ford City Area National Night Out Block Party Recap
What beautiful weather we had for our first National Night Out Block Party! It’s hard to put into words just how, well, GOOD this event made everyone feel – we can’t wait for the next one! Our local police departments, emergency responders, organizations, businesses and friends and neighbors came together for what turned out to be a really, really lovely evening together. We can’t thank our participants and sponsors enough for showing up for our neighbors and making it such a wonderful evening – and we are delighted that you joined us for the fun! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 3 when we do it again!
We said a fond farewell to Chief Chris Fabec, and welcomed our new Chief Hunter Tackett. Our Armstrong County Commissioners stopped in for the event, and we had lots of representatives from our local first responders, and many brought their GORGEOUS vehicles – what a treat! Along with our Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department, we had the Armstrong County Sheriff’s Office, the County of Armstrong Department of Public Safety, Ford City Ambulance Service, Ford City Hose Company #1, the Ford Cliff Volunteer Fire Department, Kittanning Hose, Hook & Ladder Company 1, the Manor Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the Steeltown ATV Team join us for the evening. (If we missed anyone, please call it out – you were all awesome!) Check out the photos to see their awesome rides!
Three fabulous, furry local K9 officers – Lambo, Loki and Veegee – also joined us with their handlers, and they were definitely the stars of the show! Some of our courageous first responders braved the chilly water for the dunking booth, raising funds for the K9 team – good job, guys!
The awesome DJ Omega Man rocked the night away, and Mark Gibson and Foam Party Pittsburgh’s bubbly fun was a huge hit! Our friends from Kittanning Beauty Academy painted our faces in spooky fall fashion, Relay for Life of Armstrong County provided free spin art and Cat Crusaders provided a free fall craft project, and Rittner’s Community Events provided inflatable family fun.
Along with providing lot of help, the Ford City Renaissance Community Partnership had scrumptious kielbasa and sauerkraut sammies along and cabbage and noodles; the FCABPA had super-yummy Pizzaria Pizza and delish hot dogs from Kevin’s Quality Meats served on fresh buns from Hankey’s Riverside, and everyone’s favorite chips provided by Herr’s. Our friends from Kona Ice joined us with their always-loved sweet icy treats served with a smile, and R&M Bubble Brew had mouth-watering fall treats to share!
Again, we are so grateful to our sponsors and partners for their help in holding this community event. Please check out our photos from the event, and make sure to tell those sponsors thank you for bringing the fun!
