On behalf of the 2026 Fontanet Bean Dinner Association, we simply can't thank you all enough for showing up, celebrating with us, and reminding us why we keep this tradition alive.

THANK YOU for enjoying 1,500lbs of beans and 300lbs of bacon cooked over open fire in 11 of the original bean kettles. For record keeping purposes, 11 kettles started the day including our historical "big daddy" kettle (coming out of retirement for the 2nd year in a row!) and four kettles were used for a second round with a 12th kettle used for cleaning the beans.

At last, we also took a moment for a "family photo" this year and thank Lori Byrd Collings for the photo credit.

Supporting the community all around!

Riverton Parke Music Department Plays at the Fontanet Bean Dinner

The Riverton Parke Music Department, under the direction of Mrs. Lauren Tully, travelled to Fontanet on Saturday, August 29th for the 2026 Annual Bean Dinner. Kevin Payton, director of the event, contacted Tully about the opportunity, and it was an easy yes. As the colors were presented at noon and the flag was raised, Music Department students played the National Anthem. A special thanks to Mr. Mike Hardesty for filling in as conductor while Tully filled in a missing part in the band.

"This is the first time the band has been asked to play at an event that wasn't at the high school. We were absolutely honored for the invitation and hope to come back year after year," said Mrs. Tully about the band's experience.

Along with the opportunity to serve the community, the band was presented with a donation to help further the band. The money will directly go towards instrument repairs, music purchases, and student fees.

Whew - you literally all blew us away with your attendance and support this year, THANK YOU!

We are still wrapping up somethings but had a few ask about Bean Dinner t-shirts from last year and GOOD NEWS - if you are interested, we are able to order more thanks to Lizzy’s Custom Creations LLC
