Recently, I received concerns from residents about overgrown trees and shrubbery creating a potential fire hazard behind their homes — on property owned by the San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD).

I reached out to SBMWD, and they responded immediately. Their crews jumped into action, clearing numerous overgrown weeds, and trimming back trees and shrubbery from the area to reduce the fire risk for our neighbors.

I’m grateful to partners like SBMWD for their quick response and commitment to keeping our community safe. This is what it looks like when local agencies work together for the people we serve — swift action, real results, and a shared priority on public safety.

If you ever notice a safety concern in your neighborhood, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your voice makes a difference. 🙏 Remember, we are the change!

When I came to San Bernardino many years ago, I didn't wait. I didn't point fingers. Instead, I stepped up and helped get things done.

Over the many years, I have been joined by community members and councilmembers who believe in hard work, in the power of community, and who show up.

The Kendall Beautification Project is another example of what we can achieve when we come together. If you see our project, please stop by and lend a helping hand by keeping it clean. Take a few moments to pick up trash or pull weeds. And don't forget to take some time to sit and enjoy this revitalized space. It is peaceful ☮️!

Let’s keep showing up for our city! 💪🏼
