COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO LOCAL STUDENTS

The Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) awards approximately $40,000 in scholarships annually to Geneva Lake area high school graduates who will be majoring in the environmental sciences in college. Applications for these scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year are now open at the EEF website: www.EEFSCHOLARS.ORG.

A few examples of the many environment-related career fields include: Ecology, Physical Geology, Environmental Law and Policy, Forest and Land Management, Regional and Community Planning, Fish and Wildlife Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources and Conservation.

Tax deductible donations from private citizens and area businesses are the source of EEF scholarships and grants to community schools. The EEF has made more than $500,000 in awards to local students and schools since 1980. ENVIRONMENTAL FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
April 18, 2016 -- Just in time for Earth Day 2016, the Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) of Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, has launched its new, substantially improved website.
The new EEF website address is www.eefscholars.org, which should be easier to remember than the old site, which is being taken down.
In addition to being fully updated, with new design and photography, the website has new features designed to make support of the EEF and application for scholarships and grants easier than ever.
First, donations to the EEF can now be accommodated online, both via major credit cards and PayPal. Donating is quick and easier; supporters are invited to try it out today. Donations by mail can still be made by sending a check to: EEF, P.O. Box 244, Fontana, WI 53125.
Second, application forms for scholarships and grants have been updated and can now be completed and submitted online; applications can also be printed out and mailed to the address above as before.
The mission of the Environmental Education Foundation is to award educational scholarships and grants to area students and schools for environmental-centered studies and to promote environmental awareness to all ages of the Geneva Lake area.

More than 250 lake area people turned out for the Earth Day talk, held last Sunday, by famed oceanographer Fabien Cousteau, at George Williams College,,on the shores of Geneva Lake. The event was co-sponsored by the Environmental Education Foundation.
