It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fontana Police Officer Edward Bautista, who went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2025.

Eddie began his distinguished career with the Fontana Police Department in 2013 and proudly served the city for over a decade, spending the majority of his time as a dedicated K9 handler. His commitment to public safety and his bond with his K9 partners left a lasting impact on those he served with and the community he protected.

Eddie will be remembered not only for his professionalism and dedication, but for the warmth and positivity he brought into every room. Known for his infectious smile and uplifting attitude, he was a beloved friend, son, and coworker who made a difference in the lives of many.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

With the 4th of July coming, you are definitely aware that your pets don't like fireworks. This is a time when dogs are very likely to attempt to get out of fenced yards. If you are not going to be home with your pet during the holiday, please double check that all your fences are in good shape and your gates are locked to avoid your pet getting out and into a bad situation.

It's also going to be extremely hot, so make sure your pet has plenty of water and a shaded area to rest if you are unable to bring them indoors.
