FONDA Friends Organized for a Nicer Dwelling Area (FONDA) is a non-profit, community based group located in Fonda, New York.

FONDA is a group of volunteers from the community that focuses on community pride, making Fonda look beautiful and community events. We organize the Christmas tree lighting and party, including pictures with Santa. We also provide the beautiful hanging flower baskets along the main roads and maintain/decorate the "Welcome to Fonda" signs at the entrances of the village with help from the local businesses.

Unfortunately scammers are at it again. This time using our office name making it look like we are contacting you direct. They are saying that the person called missed jury duty and they now owe money for citations. Never will this happen over the phone.

Never ever, unless you initiated the contact provide money, personal information or personal data, regardless if in person, by mail, text, regular mail or email.

Thankfully the potential victim in this case did great work asking questions and eventually the scammer gave up.
