There is still a little time left to get your child registered for the 9th Annual Kids Fishing Outing. The deadline is this Saturday, May 9th. Registration forms are available from Hoppers Screen Printing, Rippin-Lips Outdoors, or at the River Haus.

The Kids Fishing Outing registration forms are NOW available!! There are three businesses that have registration forms available. You can get the forms, fill them out, attach your $5 registration fee (leave the forms with them), and please thank them for their help in supporting this outing:

Rippin-Lips Outdoors, 258 N. Main St.

Hoppers Screen Printing, 77 N. Main St.

River Haus, 440 N. Brooke St.

Announcing the 9th Annual Kids Fishing Outing!! The outing will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the West Shelter on Oven Island! Fishing is from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon with a lunch to follow.

This outing is open to children ages 3 to 15. A gift bag for every registered child, includes bait, bucket and fishing rod (if needed). 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place metals given out for each fish category. There will also be raffle prizes.

Registration information as to where you can pick up the sign up forms will be coming out shortly.

Awesome views of the Lake. Please use this information to your advantage. Safety is key on the ice. Do your research and read the signs that clubs have posted on the landing.

Tree line was put out yesterday to the 3 mile mark. We opened up the landing for easy parking and ran a road out the east side of the tree line. Please slow down on the road.

Update 1-31-2026
Checked ice thickness off the BP landing out to the 3 mile mark that we use every year for the tree line. We found 17" closer to shore and 19" at the 3 mile mark. We will be on the ice tomorrow putting the tree line out. No cracks south of the 3 mile mark. It looks like the east west crack is about 4.5 miles out from the south end. Travel is pretty easy going. Water clarity looks great. From some fisherman that we talked to. Tight lines and stay safe.

We will be checking ice thicknesses Saturday morning off of the BP landing. If all looks good we will be putting the tree line out Sunday.
