7 Signs A Veteran Is Struggling/Mens Mental Health Awareness

1. They stop reaching out to their buddies.

The same people they’d trust with their life.

Weeks become months.

Months become years.

2. They lose interest in things they used to love.

The gym.

Fishing.

Hunting.

Motorcycles.

Even the things that used to clear their head don’t hit the same anymore.

3. They spend more time looking back than looking forward.

Every good memory starts with:

“Back when I was in…”

4. They start living for the weekend.

Just trying to survive Monday through Friday.

Waiting for the next distraction.

5. They isolate themselves.

Then wonder why nobody checks on them.

6. They keep telling themselves they’re fine because other veterans have it worse.

So they never deal with their own problems.

7. They stop making plans for the future.

Not because they don’t have goals.

Because they can’t see a future that excites them anymore.

The hard part about struggling as a veteran is that most people will never know.

Because we’re trained to keep moving no matter what.
