Camp To Belong Wisconsin, Inc. Why have a Camp To Belong? Approximately 50% of these children are separated from their siblings.

Based on information obtained through the State’s child welfare information system, there are approximately 7,000 children placed in out of home care in the state of Wisconsin. Positive Sustainable Changes:
The experience of CTB-International is that kids go home from CTB and talk about the importance of their siblings with their caregivers, case managers and others that work with them. So too the

social workers, foster parents, counselors, nurses, supervisors and other child welfare professionals that volunteer at CTB are also significantly impacted to the point that it does change their practice. This translates into more frequent visits between siblings, more contact in between visits and to siblings being reunited while in care. How CTB accomplishes this is by allowing people to not just hear and learn about the importance of sibling connections, it allows them to experience it. Learning about it is one thing, but feeling it leads to results. Feeling it will bring sustainable positive changes to the child welfare system in Wisconsin. Today, we wanted to highlight where Belong Wisconsin came from.

Before we were Belong Wisconsin, we were Camp To Belong- Wisconsin. We were founded by Kate & Rob Bauer out of passion for the mission and a desire to serve separated siblings in our own state. CTB-WI was 100% volunteer run, and, when Kate & Rob decided to retire after camp in 2024, a few dedicated long-term volunteers decided to make sure the mission did not end there.

In October of 2024, Belong Wisconsin officially came into being, with the mission of continuing the legacy started by CTB-WI for Wisconsin's youth and families impacted by foster care. We also knew that there was a desire and space for us to expand our mission and programming to help even more separated siblings stay connected.

Over the past year, we have brainstormed, dreamed, planned, worked, and strategized to make this the most successful year yet. We have learned a lot of lessons, and we're applying them in our planning for 2026.

We're not even close to done, we're just getting started. We hope you can be part of it.

When you donate to Belong Wisconsin, your tax deductible donation goes directly to serving our youth and families who need it most. The vast majority of our expenses throughout the year are direct services- programs and materials, barrier removal, camper scholarships, and outreach. The reason our goal for this campaign is $100,000 is so that we can be intentional about making sure our 2026 programs are robust, meaningful, and create diverse experiences for our kids and families without sacrificing our values and mission.
