This past week I had the privilege of serving as a counselor at Royal Family Kids Camp for the second year in a row, and wow… it was amazing.
Yes, it was a tiring week—but it was the best kind of tired. The kind that comes from pouring out love, laughing hard, and showing up day after day for kids who deserve to feel safe, seen, and valued.
My favorite moments weren’t the big events, but the small things: like a camper quietly reaching for my hand as we walked between activities. In those simple, ordinary seconds, you realize you’re part of something holy—that God is using you to help a child feel cared for and not alone.
Serving alongside the other volunteers was such a gift. There’s nothing like a community of people all focused on giving foster kids a week of joy, stability, and hope.
If you’ve ever served at Royal Family Kids (or a similar camp), I’d love to hear: what’s a moment you still carry with you? And if you’ve never been involved but your heart is stirred, this is your nudge—pray, volunteer, support a camp, or encourage someone who’s serving. These kids are worth it. 💜
