Every blood donation has the power to save lives. ❤️

Today our Folsom Rotary Clubs had the privilege of hosting a blood drive, and we are so grateful for everyone who rolled up their sleeves to help others they may never meet.

To our donors: thank you for giving your time, your kindness, and literally a part of yourselves to make a difference.

Today we had the privilege of hearing from Stars & Stripes Dog Rescue and learning about their incredible mission. ❤️🐾

They rescue shelter dogs with the right temperament, pair them with inmates at a maximum security prison in Folsom for training, and ultimately place these highly trained service dogs with veterans who need PTSD support.

What makes this program so powerful is that lives are changed at every step—dogs receive a second chance, inmates gain responsibility, purpose, and empathy, and veterans receive life-changing support.

A beautiful reminder that healing, hope, and second chances can change lives. 🇺🇸❤️

We are 5 appointments short of our goal! Will you help us?? Also, if a time you prefer does not say, "whole blood" but does offer a different donation, but you prefer to donate whole blood (or that's all you have time for), it's okay. Choose that time, and you can still simply give blood.

Hello friends! It's that time again. This is our 3rd annual blood drive. Will you please come and support us? It saves lives! 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

As we enjoy time with family and friends, may we pause to reflect with gratitude on those who made these freedoms possible. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our May 20th meeting at the Folsom Lake Rotary Club was a powerful reminder of how service truly changes lives — both locally and around the world. 💙🌎

We were inspired by our own club member, Victoria, who recently traveled to Uganda as a volunteer with Heal and Thrive Global — an organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable women in underserved communities through education, healthcare, clean water initiatives, and sustainable support programs that create long-term hope and opportunity.

During her trip, Victoria Foster, witnessed the unveiling and celebration of a newly completed water well that will provide clean, accessible water to the local community. She also shared the incredible impact of the literacy center funded by Folsom Lake Rotary, helping provide educational resources and opportunities for children and families in the area. Her presentation was both eye-opening and deeply inspiring.

We also heard from Morgan Rohmann, RN, who traveled with the Sacramento chapter of Flying Samaritans — an amazing volunteer organization that provides free medical care and humanitarian aid to underserved communities in Mexico. Morgan assisted physicians and medical teams by taking vitals and supporting the many needs of the clinics. Her stories highlighted the compassion and dedication behind medical volunteer work.

Lastly, our own Liz Millard shared her deeply personal story about how blood donors helped save both her life and her son’s life. Her heartfelt message reminded all of us how one simple donation can truly make the difference between life and death.

❤️ Because of stories like Liz’s, the 3 Rotary Clubs of Folsom are hosting a community blood drive — and we would love your support!

🌳💙 A small stake… a lasting impact 💙🌳

We’re proud that Folsom Lake Rotary, together with Rotary Club of Folsom and Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, now has a permanent place at beloved Castle Park through this community restoration project. 🙌✨

By sponsoring commemorative fence pickets, we joined so many others in helping raise funds to revitalize a place that has created memories for generations of Folsom families. 🛝☀️

We love being part of a community that comes together to invest in spaces that bring people together—today and for years to come. ❤️

🔍🏛️ Today, a group of our Rotary members had the opportunity to tour Folsom Prison, including learning more about the CalCTRA program.

It was an insightful experience that gave us a deeper understanding of rehabilitation efforts, personal growth opportunities, and the importance of providing pathways for successful reentry into society.

We appreciate the staff and program leaders who took the time to share about the work being done to help transform lives and create hope for the future. 💙
