What started as birthday kits—cake mix, candles, and party supplies for families who needed a little extra support—has grown into something even more meaningful. This summer, those kits now include a book.

That’s thanks to a special partnership with Viduni, a local teen who founded “Folsom Book Bank USA” in her parents’ garage. Since she started the book bank she has provided more than 1,200 books to schools, after-school programs, and communities.

Now her carefully chosen books are helping turn birthdays into something even bigger for our guests—moments filled with celebration, imagination, and a story a child can call their own. Because every child deserves to feel celebrated.

The countdown to our Back 2 School Extravaganza has begun!🎒✨

Behind the scenes, we're already planning, gathering supplies, and preparing to welcome hundreds of local students and families for a day filled with encouragement, resources, and hope for the school year ahead.

Last week, we had an amazing team from Micron out in the Twin Lakes Food Bank Garden helping us tackle some big projects! 🌱

This weekend, we had the honor of joining the City of Folsom in celebrating 80 incredible years of community — all while celebrating our own 40th anniversary as a food bank. 💛 One of the most meaningful parts of the day was meeting so many of you. We heard stories from families we’ve served through the years, conversations about what the food bank means to our community, and heartfelt memories that reminded us why this work matters so much.

And of course… the face painting line never stopped. 🎨😊

This past week, our Garden Coordinator and incredible team of garden volunteers wanted to do something extra special for the moms who visit the food bank. 💐With love and care, they spent time creating beautiful bouquets for guests to take home leading up to Mother’s Day — a small reminder that they are seen, appreciated, and celebrated for all they do.
