Vietnam Veterans Day – Honoring Service and Sacrifice 🇺🇸💙

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War, and the mothers who stood behind them with unwavering love and strength.

This generation of service members answered the call during a difficult and often divided time in our nation’s history. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication deserve to be remembered, honored, and respected.

We also recognize the mothers who carried the weight of worry, pride, and hope each day. They wrote letters, waited for safe returns, and held onto faith through uncertainty. Their strength is part of the legacy we honor today.

At Blue Star Mothers of America, we are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made by Vietnam veterans and their families. Their service helped shape our organization and continues to inspire generations of military families.

Today, we say what should always be said—
Welcome home.

We did it!!!! All gifts wrapped and ready for Santa to deliver to the children at Mather Veterans Village! What a great day! Thanks to MCL, AmLegion, Wounded Veteran Run, Carmichael Elks and RHBSM for making this happen! We have 20 children that are going to have an amazing Christmas.

Phase 1 of spreading holiday cheer complete! Delivered 40 turkey dinners with all the fixin’s to Mathers Veterans Village today. Thanks for the partnership Marine Corps League WH Nichols detachment 940. Happy Thanksgiving all!

In conjunction with Marine Corps League, WH Nichols Detachment 940 and Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms we delivered gifts and celebrated with Santa, 20 children at Mather Veterans Village. We purchased clothes, shoes and toys for all of them.

Delivered gas gift cards yesterday- one for each of the 70 student veterans at Folsom Lake College Folsom Lake College Veterans Success Center We topped it off with some cookies and Christmas cards from second graders. Thanks for your service! Thanks to all who donated to help make this possible!

Today was turkey dinner delivery day! We dropped off 40 Turkey dinners complete with mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce to the veterans at Mather Veterans Village. Happy Thanksgiving!
Special thanks to Marine Corps League detachment 940 for teaming up with us on this one, our volunteers (big and small!) for loading and unloading, and for everyone who has donated to help the cause! ❤️

Wounded Veteran Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization inspired by the daily perseverance and dedication of our nations combat wounded service members. Our goal is to raise awareness and donations for veteran supporting nonprofits and implement programs to support and thank veterans within our community.

Starting in 2011, Wounded Veteran Run was created by a local personal trainer as a way to promote physical fitness while simultaneously paying honor to her brother who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan on 14 July 2010. While spending time with her brother at Walter Reed Hospital she came in contact with many other wounded veterans and wanted to find a way to help support all of our injured troops. An annual 10K, 5K, and 3K running/walking event on Memorial Day seemed like the perfect solution.

Since then WVR has grown to create and implement its own programs to help veterans in the community. These programs include, Holiday Cheer, Boots to Suits, WVR Cares, and aid for Student Veterans.
