Annapoorna USA Foundation (Annapoorna) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, Hindu faith based charity of the Greater Sacramento area started in 2007. As the name Annapoorna refers the Hindu goddess of food and nourishment, Annapoorna’s focus is mostly on providing the food to the needy people in addition to providing other related services. The foundation is started by few likeminded people who thought that by providing the nutritious vegetarian food to the needy people we help the community and will provide a platform to the people who like to help and create volunteering opportunities. Annapoorna has cooked and delivered over 30,000+ meals since its inception and 3000 during COVID-19 pandemic in hygienic way. Annapoorna has been helping the Sacramento community for many years by donating food, providing wish list items during regular days and also during natural calamities such as COVID-19, forest fires, and Oroville dam levy break, helping underprivileged students, conducting blood donation drives, facilitating volunteering opportunities for youth, and many other ways. Annapoorna serves the community by partnering with local charitable organizations including Loaves and Fishes of Sacramento(www.sacloaves.org/), My Sister's House (www.my-sisters-house.org/), St. Johns Women's Shelter ( saintjohnsprogram.org/), Next Move Sacramento (www.nextmovesacramento.org/ ), Salvation Army, (https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/), Children Receiving Home ( www.crhkids.org/ ), HART Foundation ( hartoffolsom.org/), Gathering Inn (www.thegatheringinn.com) of Auburn and many others. Annapoorna conducts blood donation drives twice a year to facilitate and encourage blood donation in the community. Annapoorna conducted youth volunteer programs to help the high school kids to get the required volunteer hours. Raised funds for scholarships for twenty plus high school students of Sacramento Charter High School by St. Provides cold beverages to homeless guests during hot summer days when temperature reaches triple-digits. Annapoorna has done all these activities with the generous donations and help from the regular volunteers of Annapoorna. Big Thanks to all the volunteers and donors.

Many thanks to the community for continued support for the partnership with The Gathering Inn 🙏

For the past three years, the volunteers of Annapoorna Sacramento have shown up month after month with more than a meal. They've brought kindness, consistency, and care to our guests, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported.

We're incredibly grateful for this partnership and honored to have our work featured in their recent article celebrating three years of service at The Gathering Inn.

Thank you to every Annapoorna volunteer who has prepared meals, shared conversations, and invested in our community. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference.

We invite you to read their story and learn more about the incredible impact they're making throughout our region. Thank you, Annapoorna USA Foundation, for walking alongside us as we inspire hope and strengthen our community. 💙

Namaste, Many thanks to everyone for generous ongoing support for various Annapoorna service projects. As we grow and take up more projects - we would like to hear from each one of us, irrespective of the level of involvement:
1. Feedback on how are we doing so far?
2. Ideas on what we can do better to increase our services?
3. How you would like to get involved for ongoing support and growth?

Please take 2 minutes, it will help a lot to serve better!
