On May 29, Indiana State Liaison Jenny Lanzen had the opportunity to speak during Family Day for Class 239 at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana. With more than 300 recruits and family members in attendance, the conversation focused on building homes that can thrive in the law enforcement profession, understanding the realities and stressors that may follow officers home, and preparing families to navigate this journey together.

Every recruit is supported by family, friends, and loved ones who are stepping into this calling alongside them. We are grateful for opportunities like these to equip, encourage, and connect families from the very beginning of their law enforcement journey.

๐Ÿ™ We invite you to join us in prayer for the agencies, law enforcement families, and communities represented by the patches in this post.

๐Ÿ’™ With honor and reverence for each patch that has been gifted to us, we also place them on display and bring them to our events to share with our participants as we invite them to pray as well. We are grateful to be entrusted with a piece of your department and heart.

National Police Week is a time of remembrance, honor, and standing beside those forever impacted by loss in the law enforcement community.

During this yearโ€™s events in Washington, D.C., H2LOC Oklahoma State Liaison Tracey and her husband Keith served as Support Staff with Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), walking alongside surviving spouses, families, friends, and coworkers of fallen officers throughout the week. From the Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Service to clinician-led breakout sessions, they provided compassionate peer support to those carrying unimaginable grief.

We are also incredibly proud of H2LOC team member Lorie and her husband, who participated in the Police Unity Tour during National Police Week. Alongside riders from across the country, they rode in honor and remembrance of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, helping carry forward the mission: โ€œWe Ride for Those Who Died.โ€

Though deeply emotional, the week was also a powerful reminder of the importance of showing up for those navigating grief within the law enforcement community. The moments shared, stories heard, and connections made will remain close to our hearts and prayers for years to come.

National Peace Officers Memorial Day traces back to 1982, when approximately 120 survivors and supporters gathered in Senate Park in Washington, D.C. to honor fallen officers. Over the decades, that gathering has grown into what is now known as National Police Week, bringing together tens of thousands of law enforcement officers, surviving families, and supporters from across the nation and around the world.

Throughout the week, memorial services, candlelight vigils, and survivor events create space to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and to stand beside the families, friends, coworkers, and agencies forever impacted by their loss.

Today, we honor their courage, their service, and the legacy they leave behind. Gone, but never forgotten. ๐Ÿ’™

This week, we pause to remember the agencies both big and small that have lost an officer in the line of duty. Behind every name etched in remembrance is a family forever changed, coworkers carrying the weight of loss, and communities grieving alongside them.

As many gather in Washington, D.C. and across the nation during National Police Week, we ask you to join us in praying for the surviving families, friends, and brothers and sisters in blue who continue to carry these losses with them each day. May they feel seen, supported, and deeply loved.

National Police Week is a time to pause and remember.

We honor the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty and the families who carry that sacrifice every single day. We also recognize the men and women who continue to serve our communities with courage, integrity, and dedication.

Since 1962, this week has stood as a national reminder that behind every badge is a person willing to answer the call, and behind that officer is often a family walking this journey alongside them.

Across the country, and especially in Washington, D.C., families, survivors, officers, and supporters gather to remember, reflect, and honor those who have served and sacrificed. From the Candlelight Vigil to the National Peace Officers Memorial Service, these moments remind us that their stories matter and their lives will never be forgotten.

To all who serve, and to the families who stand beside them, we see you. We remember with you. And we remain committed to supporting the hearts behind the badge. ๐Ÿ’™
