How 2 Love Our Cops Resources for Law Enforcement Families Law Enforcement Families are faced with many challenges of a crisis-driven career.

It is the goal and vision of How2LoveOurCops to create positive tools to equip and encourage cops, spouses, and kids to thrive despite these challenges. Current resources:

Tailored to the law enforcement career and highly interactive, we tackle communication, conflict resolution, caring for each other, PTSD, office politics, critical incidents, and commitment. Law enforcement marriage doesn't always look the way you imagined, and that's okay.

Sometimes it means getting creative with time together. Other times, it means being honest about what you need, even when those conversations aren't easy.

There's no perfect schedule or one way to make it work. Just keep finding ways to connect, support each other, and make your marriage a priority.

The How 2 Love Our Cops team collects agency patches from around the world. Some of these patches come to us brand new, while others come to us straight from uniforms that have been worn for years; patches that have history embedded in them.

For the past 11 years, our Indiana State Liaison, Jenny Lanzen, has been part of something pretty special in her hometown of Elkhart, Indiana.

The annual Breaching the Barricade Law Enforcement Conference is a labor of love for Jenny, her family, and the many local chaplains and community members who work together to make it happen each year.

This year, more than 140 officers and spouses attended, and Jenny had the opportunity to share a 50 minute presentation called “The Family Keeps the Score.” She talked about how the stress and trauma officers experience on the job can make its way home, often without anyone realizing it, and shared practical ways families can recognize those challenges, work through them together, and find support.

We're so thankful for Jenny and the heart she brings to this work, along with Jim Bontrager and the many others who have poured so much into this conference over the years.

We love seeing opportunities like this where officers and their families can learn, connect, and walk away with resources to help them build a stronger home life.

Supporting the officer you love is about more than navigating the hard days. It is also about understanding what may be happening beneath the surface and how the job can impact marriage, communication, connection, and the entire family.

When something feels different, it is easy for everyone at home to feel confused, disconnected, or like they are walking on eggshells.

So… What's up with my cop?
