In these final hours of , we’re reaching out with hopeful hearts - and an inspiring story that shows exactly why your support matters. Otti is a remarkable little shepherd who embodies the true impact of your support. 🥺

Our journey with Otti began in November when she was found at just 4 weeks old, desperately needing help. She had been left at the shelter - a mere 3 pound baby - and given her tender age, it’s evident she wasn’t truly wandering. Her eyes barely open and unsteady on her feet, she required immediate care for dehydration and injuries. ❤️‍🩹

Otti quickly became a cherished member of her foster family, affectionately naming her after the baby otter she resembled upon arrival! Under their love and guidance, she began to flourish, though as she grew they noticed some concerning behaviors - specifically chasing her tail, often indicative of anxiety. We engaged a specialized trainer and sought the expertise of the Board-Certified Behavior team at UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Their evaluation confirmed Otti’s anxious tendencies, and her foster family sprang into action, implementing a targeted behavior plan along with prescribed medication. While Otti’s anxiety is lessening, her tail chasing persists, prompting us to introduce an SSRI, which we are hopeful will yield positive results. 🏥
So far, Otti’s medical expenses have reached nearly 4K; we are genuinely commitment to her well-being. She is surrounded by a compassionate team of experts who are supporting her foster family, and we are excited to find the perfect match for her forever home. But we can only accomplish this with your help! 🫶

You might recall she (Lunaa at the time) was featured in our 2025 outreach while seeking a forever family. This precious girl was diagnosed with a moderate-to-severe congenital condition that can only be managed with medication. After no adopters came forward, this girl hit the jackpot when she was adopted by her foster mom, Linda. Our goal is to financially support Bella with her long-term annual cardiology care. We hope to raise funds to cover the costs of Bella’s cardiology visits, totaling 1K annually, as well as her daily medication. (Although Bella has pet insurance, her heart condition is a pre-existing condition, making her ineligible for coverage.) ❤️‍🩹

While we don’t know how long Bella will be with us - her cardiologist mentions she could pass away any day or live for up to six more years - Linda is dedicated to giving her the best life possible. Bella is adorable, charming, sweet, and gentle; she gives SO much love to the foster puppies that have followed her into her home. (Yes, Linda is an angel who continues to foster after her “foster find”!) Your support allows us to provide dogs like Bella with the medical care they need and the chance to live a loving life. We are grateful that fate brought her to exactly where she needed to be - with her perfect “furever” family! 🫶

Big Day of Giving starts NOW and you have 24 hours to give where your heart is...we hope you’ll share some love with us!

Your support on Big Day allows us to save dogs like Ambra, a sweet two-year-old we welcomed early this year. She arrived at UC Davis Veterinary Team’s annual Covelo Clinic for euthanasia with multiple infected wounds, an injured hip, and a fractured leg after suffering five days without medical care following a car accident. With her gentle nature, she quickly captured the hearts of the volunteer veterinary team, who decided to bring her back to the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (UCDVMTH) to qualify for the Fracture Program for shelter and rescue animals. 🏥

Following initial surgery to repair her hip and clean/suture her wounds, Ambra was placed in foster care to heal for eight weeks under crate confinement. During her third weekly bandage change, she was readmitted for a second surgery to repair her fractured leg, as splinting was not enough to heal it. Fortunately, her infected wounds and surgical sites have healed - she is now bearing weight on her limbs, impressing her surgical team with her progress just two weeks post-surgery! At home, she wears a soft cone to keep her bandage in place and enjoys snuggles during her crate breaks. We are delighted to be part of her recovery journey toward health and finding a forever home. Ambra is expected to be cleared for full activity in five more weeks, after which she will be spayed and have her hernia repaired. ❤️‍🩹

Cole has captured our hearts with his calm presence and sweetness! Though he prefers to observe first and engage second, there’s a quiet (and super cute) confidence once he’s ready to forward. A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a local shelter in need of support for a litter of seven puppies. They’d all weaned from their mama and were battling respiratory infections. With the shelter in crisis due to a strep zoo outbreak, and their weakened immune systems, the puppies were at a higher risk. We held our breath for 10 days, relieved when no puppies nor resident dogs ended up showing symptoms. Now that infections have cleared, mama has since been adopted from the shelter, and babies have received the preventative care they need…it’s happy news all around! We are searching for families for these sweet little loves. We’d appreciate your support in making their perfect matches! 🐾♥️

We’re SO grateful for your support and donations during our scare with Nimbus! Parvo is really scary, and every moment matters…thankfully, her foster family and veterinary team saved Nimbus’ life with their timely response and expertise. We’re happy to report that her appetite, energy, and s***k and back! Now, let’s find our strong little girl a furever home… 🐾♥️
