October is on 🔥...well, actually fire prevention through our fire fuel removal events! We're continuing our work on the trail behind Peterson Place Apartments through October 22nd and then we'll be moving to Pond View Drive toward the end of the month.

🚨Please note the Thursday time change taking effect October 15. Our Thursday workdays will now be from 3-5pm due to the fading daylight! 🌞

Bring gloves, your water bottle, and a can-do spirit! 🙌

What projects will Friends of Folsom Parkways be working on next?

Find out the answers to these questions and a lot more by coming to our Board and General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 8th, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Hinkle Creek Nature Center, 7000 Baldwin Dam Road, in Folsom.

Our guests will include Ryan Neves, Capital Projects Manager from the city's Parks and Recreation Department, and a representative of the Folsom Police Department to discuss the e-bikes, and two special guests to tell us the story behind the pictures. Don't miss out!

After a hard day of clearing trails, there’s nothing like an ice cold b**r! What good timing - our friends at Red Bus Brewing Company in Folsom are partnering with Friends of Folsom Parkways to create a special Parkways Pilsner, available for pre-ordering on the Red Bus Brewing Company website (redbusbrew.com) during the month of October. A portion of the proceeds will go to supporting our ongoing work on the trails. Supplies are limited so get your orders in early.

But there’s no reason to wait for the new batch. Drop by Red Bus Brewing Company, 802A Reading Street, Historic Folsom and check out their selections, just like the groups of FoFP members shown here. You’ll have a great time!

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, October 3 for our fire fuel removal event. 🔥🪵We'll be working along the trail behind Peterson Place Apartments from 8-10am. Bring gloves and a refillable water bottle, and we'll bring the tools!

An energetic group of volunteers turned out this morning at our new project location. For the next several weeks we will be working Thursday evenings (5:00-7:00 pm) and Saturday mornings (8:00-10:00 am) at the trail behind the Peterson Place Apartments off Blue Ravine and Oak Avenue. This half mile stretch is heavily wooded and thick with Blackberry vines and other invasive plants that will be a difficult challenge. We would really appreciate more helpers to work on the trimming, loading the green waste bins and moving full cans back to the pickup spot. So grab a pair of gloves, wear good shoes and come on out.
