Saddle up, HART of Folsom! 🐓 The Folsom Pro Rodeo is back July 2nd-4th, and it's a huge opportunity to earn funds for our housing program and winter shelter. We’re looking for 10 volunteers each night to help welcome guests at the Upper Entry Gate. You’ll get dinner, cold water, a peek at the rodeo, and great views of the fireworks! šŸŽ†

Living in your car while working as much as possible is exhausting. For a year, that was Aaron’s reality in Folsom.

One of the biggest barriers to overcoming homelessness is a lack of access to the right tools, education, and support. When an incredible work ethic constantly hits a wall without the right vocational training or mentorship, potential gets trapped in survival mode.

But education and guidance change everything. Through HART’s housing and a dedicated case manager, Aaron got the hand up he needed. Today, he’s steadily employed, saving money, and actively honing his culinary skills to open doors for better pay and benefits.

Our community is packed with talented, knowledgeable people just like you. If you have skills in financial planning, resume building, or vocational trades, you could be the turning point for someone like Aaron.

Use your expertise to empower someone on their journey to self-sustainability. Tap the link to volunteer your skills with HART today. šŸ¤šŸ› ļø https://www.hartoffolsom.org/volunteer

With rents pushing past $2,000 a month on average in Sacramento County, it’s becoming much more difficult for young adults in Folsom to get a real start on independent living. Our new Community Student Village is designed to change that by providing the stable housing and mentoring they need to build real financial independence. For the latest on that project, and how you can get involved, visit hartoffolsom.org.

When a student is caught in the cycle of housing instability, 100% of their energy goes into survival mode. It is impossible to focus on a midterm, an interview, or a budget when you don’t know where you’re sleeping next month.

That’s why the vision for our Community Student Village isn't just about putting a roof over someone's head—it's about creating space for them to breathe.

This village will offer a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment where local students can step out of crisis and into their purpose. Combined with intentional mentorship, it’s the ultimate hand-up that empowers the next generation to focus on what matters: building a stable, successful future right here in Folsom.

Because of our incredible community, we are thrilled to announce that we raised over $45,000 through this year’s Big Day of Giving (BDOG) campaign at our recent Fiesta!

This was a massive leap forward for our mission to provide stability and hope right here in Folsom.

We believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Your generosity directly funds our Transitional Housing Program and The Community Student Village at Oak Hills Church, which will give local college students a safe, affordable place to stay while going to school and build the future they’re working so hard for.

Thank you for being the HART of our mission.

We are still absolutely floored by the incredible wave of support for our community student village project. This isn't just about construction; it’s about creating a foundation where students can truly thrive.

Mark Carey of MC Engineering joined us to share his perspective on why this initiative is so vital. He dives into the technical beauty and the profound social importance of establishing a program like this right here in our city.

Why This Matters:

Holistic Growth: Creating a dedicated space for students fosters a sense of belonging and stability.

Engineering for Good: Seeing how thoughtful design and engineering can solve local housing challenges.

A Sustainable Future: Investing in our youth today ensures a stronger, more connected community tomorrow.

We’re still moving forward! Whether through mentorship, spreading the word, or continued financial support, every bit of momentum counts. Let's build this story together.
