A lot of kids in this program come in a little guarded.

What changes that isn't one big moment. It's the accumulation of small ones — same person, same lunch table, week after week.

Until guarded becomes open, and open starts showing up in the classroom too.

There are kids in our community who move through a school year feeling like they're mostly on their own.

Not because nobody cares — but because no one has made it a point to show up specifically for them, consistently, over time.

The Lunch Buddy program exists to change that. One child, one mentor, one lunch a week.

It's how we say: you belong here, and someone is in your corner.

🎉 We have some celebrating to do!!!

Last month, Boots & Buckles Give Back organized a community dance fundraiser in Historic Folsom and named Folsom's Hope as their beneficiary.

There was line dancing, food trucks, local vendors, and an evening of neighbors choosing to do something good together.

⭐️The Result....

They raised $5,000 for our students!!! 🎉

Thank you, Boots & Buckles Give Back. Thank you to Moves Like Justtice for partnering with them.

And thank you to everyone who danced, donated, and showed up that night!!

Some kids come to school carrying a lot. Stress they can't name.

A Lunch Buddy doesn't fix it all, but a consistent, caring adult showing up every week just to be present — that builds trust, improves behavior, and helps kids feel like they belong somewhere.

Lunch is just a start.

We have been so blessed to have the food bank garden in our back yard. Michelle is amazing and works with our kiddos!
