Tuesday, April 23 @ 6:30 PM is the next Folsom City Council meeting. If you care about limiting more growth in the area South of 50, attend this meeting to let your feelings be known. AKT Development will be “workshopping” a proposal for further annexation of our city in order to build a significant new housing development. City council will NOT be making a decision regarding annexation at this meeting. The agenda item is informational for future potential action by city council. See the agenda here:

The City Council has adopted a policy that no new item will begin after 10:30 p.m.  Therefore, if you are here for an item that has not been heard by 10:30 p.m., you may leave, as the item will be continued to a future Council meeting.

We did it, HFRA Members! This year we donated even more citrus fruit to Twin Lakes Food Bank than we did last year. In addition, many of you heard about their need for other types of food donations like canned chicken, macaroni and cheese, cereal and other non perishable items and you dropped those off too! Although our drive has ended, you can still take donations directly to Twin Lakes Food Bank. Thank you for your generosity!

The Historic Folsom Residents Association (HFRA) will have two board positions up for election in June of this year. The incumbent board members have both indicated they do not intend to run for re-election. We're looking for engaged HFRA members who have a desire to serve the community and who want to work with us!

The board meets once per month to discuss issues of importance to the residents of the historic district. We'd love to have you come be a part of our efforts! Any HFRA member is eligible, whether you own or rent property in the historic district. If you're thinking about it, but would like to learn more, reach out to us and we can connect you with a current board member to ask questions. Or, if you'd like to attend an upcoming board meeting, we'd welcome you to do so.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 7th at 6 PM as the Folsom History Museum and Historic Folsom Residents Association co-host a meet and learn event regarding the current citizen-led sales tax initiative effort in Folsom. The citizen group is known formally as “Folsom Residents Supporting Public Safety and Quality of Life,” aka “Folsom Takes Action.”

Members of the citizen group will be on hand to provide a brief presentation about the initiative and to answer questions residents might have regarding the initiative. For those who choose to, residents will also be able to sign the petition to qualify the initiative for placement on the November 2024 ballot, at which time Folsom residents would vote on the measure.

You do not have to be a HFRA member or a museum member to attend this event. It is open to all Folsom residents. Feel free to invite neighbors or Folsom friends. It is helpful if you RSVP to “[email protected]” and let us know how many from your group will attend, but even last-minute attendees are welcome.

We look forward to seeing you then.
