In honor of PFC Tanner Rubio who was killed last Wednesday in a tactical vehicle mishap at Camp Pendleton; to honor him and his family, we are tying yellow remembrance ribbons in his home town of Dixon. All are welcome to join. We are gathering at the Folsom Veterans Hall at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, December 9th, if you’re interested in carpooling to Dixon. Kickin off this Holiday with a strong showing at the Toys For Tots Drive at the Gaslight. Then over to Throw Down at the Smart Axe in Old Town Folsom.

Phew! What a weekend this is going to be!

Come on down to the Folsom Veterans Hall Friday December 12th starting at 2 p.m. Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms will be gift wrapping their little hearts out for all your Christmas gifts you need wrapping (donations welcomed), also @ 2 p.m. you can start dropping off toys for our Mather Veteran Village children’s Toy drive. Then @ 6 p.m. we start our Chili Cook off Contest. Free to enter, $10 to taste and judge all the chilis. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Next up is the Gingerbread cookie contest! Bring a dozen and win a prize for best cookie. Our honorable Bob Bailey is the Chief cookie Judge.

And don’t forget to show up in your Ugliest Christmas Sweater you can find where you will be judged and prize given by Team RWB for the winner.

December 13th, make sure you come down @ 9 a.m. for the Wreaths Across America Ceremony and after the ceremony we proceed down the street to Lakeside Cemetery to honor the Veterans who are laid to rest by placing a wreath on their grave.

The Marine Corps League - Folsom, CA - W. H. Nichols Detachment #940 is proud to support the Citrus Heights Veterans Memorial Project— bringing a permanent replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to our community.

This is a project that honors the service and sacrifice of over 58,000 names etched into the Wall. We encourage all who are able to learn more and get involved.
