The Fred Project

The Fred Project Re-Wiring The Anxious Brain Born October 15th, 1973, Alfred was just shy of his 49th birthday when he took his own life.

This came as a shock to family and friends as well as the communities that he was actively involved in. Al was known as a confident, charitable, and courageous man. He lived his life traveling the world only to discover a passion for people that undoubtedly influenced his desire to help others. In the months prior to his death, he suffered from anxiety and depression. Something that he had never d

ealt with before. We do not know the extent of his suffering as he did not want to burden family or friends with the fight going on inside his mind. A note pad was found in a favorite spot of his on his front porch with the statement, "Re-wire the anxious brain". This sentence stuck with us because it spoke to a silent struggle that he felt he could not share and could not fix. The silence is now deafening as his words play over and over.
