Empower and Link

Empower and Link Empower and Link addresses the systemic issues that create the need for our services in the first place.

We tackle generational poverty by empowering individuals with the tools, skills and connections they need to break free from crisis cycles.

Empower and Link believes that true stability is about more than solving today’s crisis—it’s about preventing tomorrow’s.

We can help get the power 🔌turned back on. We can help prevent an eviction 🏠. We can help bridge the gap during a difficult season. But if we don’t also help you understand how to create a budget, build or repair your credit, recognize scams and fraud, and make informed financial decisions, have we really helped you move toward long-term stability?

Our goal isn’t just to provide temporary relief—it’s to equip people with the tools 🧰 , knowledge, and confidence to take control of their financial future. That’s why financial literacy is such an important part of the Empower and Link 360 Framework. We want every participant to leave with more than assistance; we want them to leave with skills that can create lasting change.

A special thank you to Lisa Werner and WesBanco for helping make these opportunities available through WV Saves and other financial education workshops throughout the Ohio Valley. Partnerships like these help turn support into sustainability.

💬 If you’ve attended a WV Saves financial literacy class, we’d love to hear from you! Has it helped you with budgeting, understanding credit, or avoiding scams? Share your experience in the comments and help encourage others to take advantage of these valuable resources.

Because at Empower and Link, we don’t just want to help you through the crisis—we want to help you build the future. 💙

We still have several more opportunities to attend this month!

Every number in this report tells a story of a family that stayed housed, a parent who remained connected to their children, a person who stayed on the path of recovery, or a household that avoided crisis.

What makes this impact even more remarkable is that it was accomplished entirely through donated dollars and volunteer hours.

From January through May 2026, Empower and Link invested more than $20,000 in direct assistance, serving 66 households and impacting at least 167 lives—without a single paid staff member.

No salaries.
No administrative team.
No funded positions.

Just community members, volunteers, donors, and supporters committed to removing barriers and creating stability for those facing homelessness, recovery challenges, child welfare involvement, and other life-altering crises.

Imagine what could be accomplished with sustainable funding.

Imagine the number of families that could remain together.
Imagine the number of evictions that could be prevented.
Imagine the number of individuals who could maintain recovery, secure housing, and build lasting independence.

Imagine what's possible when that impact is fully resourced.

Consider giving today!
