One of Baldwin County’s finest. Gone too soon.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce Mrs. Tammy Campbell (Operator #166) gained her wings yesterday. Tammy was one of the greatest inspirations and dispatchers that Baldwin County 9-1-1 has ever known.
For twenty-five years, Tammy faithfully served our community in countless ways, as a Dispatcher, Training Officer, Supervisor, and Dispatch Coordinator. She trained and mentored so many of us, shaping not only strong telecommunicators but also strong leaders. Every single day, she modeled what true leadership looks like. She never allowed her health challenges to define her. Even when she didn’t feel her best, she showed up. She put on her headset, answered the calls for help, and dispatched responders to those in need. That was Tammy- selfless, loyal, and full of heart.
She had a true servant’s spirit. Her compassion for her family, her community, and our center will be felt forever. The legacy she built will echo through these halls and throughout our entire public safety family for generations to come.
Tammy wouldn’t want us sitting in sadness. She would want us to put on our headsets, open our hearts, and continue the mission, answering the next call and helping someone on what may be the worst day of their life. It is now our responsibility to carry forward the standard in which she set.
Tammy, we love you. We promise you and your family that you will never be forgotten.
