Grateful to everyone who came out, dressed up, placed their bets, and made the day so special. Events like this are such a powerful reminder of what we can do when we come together for a meaningful cause.

Last week, 5 advocates represented us in KidneyCAN's advocacy days. They shared their stories with representatives from Congress to add our voices to the request for more national funding of kidney cancer research. Last year, this funding was cut to ZERO so these meetings are critical now more than ever. Everyone that follows this page has been affected by kidney cancer and we'd love for you to join us in the Fall for the next round of advocacy days.

"I found the experience very rewarding, and I feel as though I am helping make a difference. I thought speaking at a national level would be intimidating, it wasn’t. I found the staff representatives knowledgeable, respectful and receptive to our message. I would tell my past self to just do it, you will so glad you participated."

"What an inspiring day! Starting with the personal stories from kidney cancer patients to the most recent developments from research physicians, it was a day of support, learning and hope for the future. While it was the “fear of the unknown” when it came to speaking on Advocacy Day, my team and the other supporters were wonderful in preparing me ahead of time while supporting and encouraging me on the actual day. It is truly a meaningful way to remember our loved ones and fight for the funding to make great strides."

"If a person has the chance to participate in an Advocacy Day I would highly recommend. It seems scary at first, but you really are just telling a story you know from your heart. It doesn’t have to be long. Just let them know how really important the work is and tax dollars are needed to continue the fight! We need help to irradiate cancer and help people with cancer to have more and meaningful years."
