*As power was given to the disciples when Jesus was on the earth, so has he given to the church power to overcome all the wiles of the devil.
**Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
***After Jesus resurrection he delegated authority (power) to the believer in the church.
***Matthew 28:18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."
***Mark 16:17-20 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;... And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."

Romans 8:26-27 "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. "
