The Flushing Women's Club was proud to award $1,000.00 "checks" to our scholarship recipients - Flushing High School graduating seniors, Grace Gill and Diana Aboukarroum. These students will each continue their education at two of Michigan's best universities: Grace will attend Eastern Michigan University and Diana will attend Wayne State University. The members of the Flushing Women's Club are delighted to be able to award scholarships each year to Flushing Students.

The Flushing Women's Club is proud to congratulate Diane LaBree-Campbell on her installation as the GFWC Michigan State president! The event took place this past weekend at the 131st Michigan Convention. Diane has been a member of the Flushing Women's Club since 2014 and has held various positions including Club President from 2018-2019. Diane will serve as President from 2026-2028 supporting the many wonderful GFWC affiliate organizations, with special projects focusing on St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association. Diane is passionate about leadership and empowering women to become leaders in their clubs and communities. She is known for her willingness to help in any situation, her thoughtful advice and her warm, caring friendship. We look forward to working with Diane in her new position!

Flushing Women's Club members, Delilah Boshaw, Lyn Kleimola and Teresa Matthews (pictured R-L) delivered blankets made by members of our club to the Genesee County Animal Shelter on Pasedena today. They also provided the shelter with a variety of treats for the animals and other items donated by our club members.

Club members made the blankets as part of our Martin Luthor King Jr. Day of Service starting back on January 19 and completing them in time for this delivery. Several members donated fleece and other fabric and the blankets were sewn by Lora Priebe Barshney, Delilah Boshaw, Lyn Kleimola, Joyce Wilson, Barb Grimes, Julie McPherson, Lisa Ball and Lynne Whitmire.

We are so proud to be able to make these blankets for the animals at the shelter and we are proud of our volunteers for their dedication and service!

This is one of our vendors that participates at our annual Craft Bazaar at Flushing School in November!

Gutierrez, who has lived in Flushing since 2010 and is originally from Torreón, Mexico, said the idea grew from years of perfecting her recipe after tasting freshly made churros at a market in Mexico.
