⚾ 💙 P.S.23Q@841 IS HAVING FUN AT BAT 💙⚾

Students from P.S.23Q@841 recently stepped up to the plate for a special Fun At Bat day, where they got to learn, move, and play with new equipment provided by the Amazin’ Mets Foundation!

Through our partnership with USA Baseball, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation helps bring Fun At Bat to elementary schools across the region, introducing students in grades K-5 to the fundamentals of baseball and softball during P.E. class.

The program teaches the basics of the game, from fielding and throwing to batting, while also emphasizing character development, functional movement, literacy, active play, and fun 🧡💙

🤩 OVER 10,855,000 MINUTES READ 🤩

Over the past six weeks, students at schools across Queens stepped up to the plate and read for at least 20 minutes every night through our Ya Gotta Read! program, presented by Delta Air Lines.

It’s no surprise that our Ya Gotta Read! participants hit a grand slam this year:

📘10,855,372 minutes read
📙27,500 students included in the program
📘9,977 students hit a “home run,” reading 600 minutes or more.

SMILE TUESDAYS IS BACK 🧡💙

Students from Amazin’ Mets Foundation grantee Commonpoint joined New York Mets shortstop Francisco M. Lindor for the first Smile Tuesdays of 2026.

Established by Lindor, Smile Tuesdays gives students the opportunity to learn about the importance of dental hygiene and how small daily habits can support lifelong health.

Students met Lindor before the day’s game, heard about his journey to the majors, and learned dental health tips.

🩵😁 SENIOR SMILES 😁 🩵

Through our Senior Smiles program, we team up with our Amazin’ grantees to provide older adults in our community with support, resources, and activities that help spark joy.

For our first Senior Smiles event of the year, we joined City Parks Foundation to support their senior fitness programming across different NYC parks and highlight how wellness can be an outlet of community, connection, and fun at any age.

Your mind matters. Your heart matters. YOU Matter. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re celebrating the importance of caring for our mental health!

Recently, we joined grantee Girls Inc. of New York City and students at The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria.

With the support of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, Girls Inc. NYC offered students and educators the chance to explore the importance of mental well-being, positive thinking habits, and strategies to manage stress and emotional challenges.

We made sure participating students also left with all the tools they need to continue practicing the skills they learned 🧡💙

The Amazin’ Mets Foundation is proud to partner with the New York Mets for Mets on the Move, presented by Hospital for Special Surgery.

Launched each spring alongside National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, Mets on the Move brings fun, movement-focused activities to local elementary schools. We help students gear up with pedometer watches to track their steps, set personal fitness goals, and build healthy habits that last a lifetime – all while earning Mets-themed prizes along the way 🧡💙
