Santiago Iglesias Educational Society was out in full force today in Jackson Heights, Queens, to support Senator Jessica Ramos through door knocking and leafleting.

Taking time out to speak with voters and support candidates who stand with working people is what union solidarity is all about. Senator Ramos has been a strong supporter of labor, and we were proud to help spread that message throughout the community.

We will continue to back those who back us!!!

Today, the Santiago Iglesias Educational Society proudly conducted Part One of our Leadership Development Series, a highly interactive three hour course focused on preparing the next generation of union leaders within our trade.

Members participated in open discussion, impromptu speeches, leadership exercises, and professional development training centered around communication, accountability, professionalism, and how to properly present themselves both on and off the jobsite.

The course also covered all major topics outlined in Part One of the Leadership Development curriculum, with valuable insight provided by seasoned foremen who shared real-world experiences and lessons learned throughout their years in the field.

This program reflects our continued commitment to leadership development within our union and our belief that strong organizations are built by developing strong members. We are focused on helping our brothers and sisters grow into future foremen, supervisors, and leaders who will represent the membership with professionalism, discipline, and pride.

The course was led by Santiago Iglesias Educational Society Second Vice President Frank Miranda.

Also in attendance was Second Vice President of the Bronx Acorn Club, John Castrillion, as well as Corresponding Secretary and President of the Jose Lopez Scholarship Fund, Dianerry Perez.

Part One marks the beginning of a planned four part Leadership Development Series designed to continue building leadership, communication, and professional growth within our membership. Future classes and course dates will be announced at a later time, so stay tuned as we continue investing in the next generation of union leadership.

Today was only the beginning.
