A local charity event with a statewide impact. ⛳️💙 On Sept. 17–18, the Flowood Mayor’s Cup returns to The Refuge Golf Course with an opportunity to help support the Children's Advocacy Centers of Mississippi and their important work across our state.

In 2025 alone, 9,490 child abuse victims received services through a Children’s Advocacy Center.

That’s just one of the numbers highlighted by Darkhorse Press in its recent feature on the 2026 Flowood Mayor's Cup Golf Tournament & Silent Auction and this year’s beneficiary, the Children's Advocacy Centers of Mississippi.

CACM also reported that in 2025:
• 5,053 professionals received training to effectively respond to child abuse cases
• 1,782 hours of expert support were provided to Mississippi’s 15 member Child Advocacy Centers
• 193 students and professionals participated in case simulations through the Child Advocacy Training Institute

For more than 20 years, the Flowood Mayor's Cup has brought together businesses, organizations, and community leaders from across Mississippi to support meaningful causes through philanthropy and friendly competition.

Established in 2002 by former Flowood Mayor Gary Rhoads, the annual tournament was created to raise funds for organizations making a difference in the lives of Mississippians.

Today, Mayor Kathy Smith proudly continues that tradition, carrying forward the tournament's legacy of community service and charitable giving. Each year, the Flowood Mayor's Cup features a four-man scramble golf tournament, silent auction, and community partnerships, with proceeds benefiting a nonprofit organization selected by the Mayor's Office.

Since its inception, the tournament has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations including The Mustard Seed, the Gabby Strong Foundation, breast cancer research initiatives, Breakthrough T1D, Children's Advocacy Centers of Mississippi, and many other charitable causes dedicated to improving lives throughout Mississippi and beyond.

Every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, donor, and supporter plays a role in this story. Thank you for helping us make a difference since 2002.
