The Gear Bears had a great time at the Peachtree Region District Championship Thursday through Saturday. This season brought about tremendous growth for the skills of our team. Our programming team brought us our first function vision system, more sophisticated motor control, and vastly improved autonomous control. Our mechanical team built on our reputation started last year for strategic use of 3D printed parts by building a very effective turret / shooter that ran flawlessly all season. Our marketing team did an amazing job of networking with other teams and spreading Gear Bear Cheer throughout each competition besides keeping our fans updated through social media. And finally, our amazing mentors and parents were vital in keeping our team safe, happy, and well fed throughout the season and all our travels.
We were extremely honored to be the recipients at the district championship of the Imagery Award in honor of Jack Kamen. We also were thrilled to be the only team in the Peachtree district to attempt and successfully achieve level 3 climbs this season.
