If you’re parking with us before the Marcus homecoming game tomorrow, stop by for a hot dog and yard games before kickoff! All are welcome! Parking is free, but we will be accepting donations for Denton County Friends of the Family. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For the next two weeks, we are in a short series I’m calling “Gifted and Giving.” We are working out of Deuteronomy chapter 26 and the story that the Israelites tell about themselves when they bring their first offering to God in the Promised Land. They remember God’s grace. They remember the givenness of all that they have and how generous God has been to them. That is profoundly narrative shifting, especially in a culture like ours that works so hard to achieve. It’s easy to forget the blessings. So, before we talk about pledges, we are going to rest in a new, really old, story, and soak in gratitude. Join us this weekend at 9am in Bethel or 10:30am in the MPR. See you then.

The Table is where everything this series has proclaimed becomes visible. We come from every direction, different in every way that usually divides, and we are not asked to become the same. Scripture's last vision is of gates that never close and nations carrying their own glory into God's city. The trouble has never been our differences. It is our habit of turning them into rivalries, and at this Table that habit ends. So join us at the Table as we wrap “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” on World Communion Sunday.
