From the town of flower mound.
Happy first day of spring! πͺ»βοΈ As you start turning your sprinkler systems back on, consider participating in the Upper Trinity Regional Water District's (UTRWD) free Irrigation System Check-Up Program. As part of the program, a licensed irrigator will schedule a one-hour, free check-up to make sure your system is functioning properly and efficiently. To learn more and request an irrigation check-up, visit www.utrwd.com/water-less-yall.
Speaking of sprinklers, we have an important update to share on the Townβs watering restrictions. The Town now operates under an updated Long-Term Water Conservation Plan, which includes the following restrictions related to irrigation:
π§ No outdoor watering with automatic irrigation systems or hose-end sprinklers between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
π§ Outdoor irrigation with automatic systems or hose-end sprinklers must be limited to watering two days per week. Hereβs the watering schedule:
π± Residential addresses ending in an even number can water on Tuesday and Friday.
π± Residential addresses ending in an odd number can water on Wednesday and Saturday.
π± All non-residential, commercial, HOA lots and common areas, and multi-family properties can water on Monday and Thursday.
π§ Irrigation of landscaped areas and building foundations is permitted at any time if it is by means of a hand-held hose, faucet-filled bucket, drip irrigation, or soaker hose systems.
As summer and the hottest months of the year approach, the Town may enter its Emergency Water Demand Management Plan β based on drought or water storage and pumping conditions β triggering further restrictions. If that happens, weβll let you know here and at www.flowermound.gov/waterconservation.
