In January of 2016 we began a partnership with Love and Light Ministries of Fort Worth. On the 3rd Tuesday of every month we feed approximately 250 people, who are either homeless or below poverty level. We offer a sack lunch with a sandwhich, chips, dessert snack crackers and a bottle of water. Inspired by the work that Love and Light Ministries does, we have started our own ministry called J216.
J216 goes to downtown Fort Worth twice a week to feed the homeless and impoverished in that area, as well as continuing to partner with Love and Light Ministries on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. twice a week we take sack lunches to Fort Worth and on Friday's we include a hot meal. Many times we hear comments like, "this is the first meal I've had in days." Our numbers have grown and we are now feeding approximately 70 people 2x's per week. We have also expanded our ministry to provide some basic clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, Bibles, and hygiene kits when available.
90% of our donations come from our congregation, and it is a special delight to see others outside the congregation take interest in helping us. We are a small congregation, but God has used us to do mighty things
