As we close out Thanksgiving weekend, we continue to reflect on what fuels the work of The Oasis Foundation: compassion, community, and the belief that dignity should never be out of reach.

This past week, our team and volunteers delivered full Thanksgiving meals to families we serve — a reminder of why our mission matters and how powerful it is when a community shows up for one another. These moments reflect the heart of our work: supporting patients and families nearing the end of life, offering relief when it’s needed most, and making sure no one walks through this season alone.

As we step into Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting those who believe in our mission to stand with us. Your support directly funds meal assistance, emergency relief, final wishes for hospice patients, and scholarships for future caregivers.

This Thanksgiving, we had the privilege of continuing our tradition of delivering full holiday meals — including an entire cooked turkey generously provided by Pete's Fresh Market — to families we serve across our community.

This is the heart of our vision in action: showing up, supporting families, and making sure no one walks through this season alone.

A special thank-you to our Foundation Director, Gabrielle Bello, whose leadership and commitment made this initiative possible. Also to every volunteer who helped pack, deliver, and greet families with warmth — this work simply wouldn’t happen without you.

We are so grateful to be able to do this work, and as we continue through the holiday season, our mission remains the same: compassion, community, and care for those navigating life.

As we approach the holiday season, Giving Tuesday reminds us to pause with purpose — a National Day of Giving that celebrates generosity and community across the nation.

At The Oasis Foundation, we know from experience that joy comes through service. This season, we invite you to partner with us — to help give the gift of dignity to patients and families navigating life-limiting illness.

Our mission is simple: to serve with compassion, connection, and care. Through our programs, we provide support for transportation, education, wellbeing, funeral arrangements, and final wishes that bring peace and meaning at the end of life.

Your contribution makes this possible:
$25 – Provides a Thanksgiving meal for a patient in need
$50 – Covers a personalized holiday gift
$100 – Grants a patient’s meaningful wish
$250 – Supports an Emergency Relief Grant for families in hardship

October Grantee Spotlight 💚

We are once again here to highlight a story reflecting the heart of our mission.

Earlier this year, the Oasis Foundation provided emergency transportation assistance to ensure a daughter could be by her mother’s side during a critical time. We believe being present for loved ones is not just meaningful, it is essential.

Pictured are three generations: a grandmother, mother, and daughter. A powerful reminder of why our work exists — to remove barriers and uplift families during life’s most fragile moments.

At The Oasis Foundation, our goal with the Pathway to Purpose Scholarship is not only to recognize academic achievement — but to support future caregivers shaped by empathy, service, and lived experience.

Are you a student pursuing a degree in healthcare or social work?

The Oasis Foundation is proud to offer a $2,500 scholarship for students committed to compassionate service — especially those whose lives have been touched by hospice care.

Award Can Be Used For:
✔️ Books
✔️ Tuition
✔️ Room & Board

Who Should Apply?
Students in Cook, DuPage, or Will Counties who are either enrolled in or have been accepted into an accredited college, university, or vocational program.

Oasis Foundation Grantee of the Month 💜

This September, we’re honored to share the story of how our Foundation assisted a hospice patient staying at the House of Goshen Inpatient Unit.

This woman during her stay, mentioned how she wished she had a doll like another patient’s, a small comfort that could help bring joy to her during a difficult time. Oasis Hospice & Palliative Care COO, Katrina Agnew, overheard this and immediately asked how our foundation could help.

Together, we made it happen through the release of an emergency Heart’s Desire grant — a program designed to grant final wishes for patients in hospice care. These wishes can be as big as traveling to a national park and reuniting with loved ones, to as simple as enjoying a spa day, favorite meal or, receiving a tangible gift that might lead to better comfort and care. Like, her cherished doll.

Things like this may not be what we usually think of as "care"; yet our ability to listen and respond helped yield something special. An elevated sense of peace, comfort, and joy.

Today, she has her doll in hand and a smile on her face. A big reminder that sometimes the smallest acts of consideration can leave the biggest impact.

You can apply if you…

✔️ Live in Cook, Will, or DuPage County
✔️ Are you pursuing a degree in healthcare or social work
✔️ Have a GPA of 2.75 or higher
✔️ Have demonstrated resilience, academic promise, and community service
✔️ Are enrolled in or accepted to a 2- or 4-year college or university
✔️ Have a legitimate financial need

🌟 Bonus consideration for those who've had family impacted by hospice care.

Award Amount: $2,500

Can be used for: Tuition, Room & Board, or Books
