Relationships are at the heart of everything we do in education. πŸ’™

Teaching is incredibly rewarding, but it's also deeply relational work. When relationships with students, colleagues, or families become strained, it can impact not only our work but our own well-being.

Join us for our first Bite Size PD of the fall:

Together, we'll explore practical restorative strategies that help educators:
🀝 Strengthen relationships

🌱 Foster psychological safety
❀️ Reconnect with the joy and purpose that brought us into education

Whether you're a teacher, administrator, counselor, social worker, or support staff member, you'll leave with strategies you can begin using right away.

Recently, Partnership for Resilience attended the Area 5 SEL Hub 2026 Summer Summit, where educators and community partners came together to explore Awareness & Agency in Mental Health.

One message came through loud and clear: healthy school communities begin with healthy adults.

Some of our biggest takeaways included:

πŸ’™ Prioritizing adult social-emotional well-being isn't optionalβ€”it's foundational.

🀝 Strong relationships are at the heart of successful schools and lasting change.

πŸ“ Meaningful improvement starts with thoughtful action planning and understanding the root causes behind the challenges schools face.

These ideas align closely with our work at Partnership for Resilience. When we invest in adult wellness, strengthen relationships, and help schools move beyond quick fixes to address root causes, we create environments where students, educators, and families can all thrive.

We're grateful to the Area 5 SEL Hub and the presenters for creating space for meaningful learning and collaboration. We look forward to bringing these ideas into our work with schools across Southern Illinois.

Strong families are built through strong partnerships. πŸ’™

This week, Partnership for Resilience joined the SICCF-Southern IL. Coalition for Children & Families' Action Team for an annual planning meeting.

We're excited to share that Partnership for Resilience will be featured as the Agency Spotlight on October 7, where we'll have the opportunity to introduce our work and share how we support schools, families, and communities across Southern Illinois.

We're grateful to be part of this incredible network.

Special thanks to our partners at Birth to Five Illinois: Region 30 and Birth to Five Illinois: Region 21 for their continued collaboration!

πŸŽ‰ What a wonderful way to celebrate another successful year!

This month, our Southland Team gathered for an end-of-the-year cookout celebrating the incredible dedication of our Parent Mentor Program and Ladders of Opportunity participants.

Together, we recognized the relationships built, the lives impacted, and the commitment of those who continue to strengthen children, families, and communities. Thank you to everyone who made this celebration so special! We're grateful for all you do and look forward to another year of growing, learning, and building resilience together.

πŸ’š Mental health is essential for everyone, yet access to care is not always equal.

This July, we’re joining Mental Health America in honoring the memory of Bebe Moore Campbell, a mental health advocate who worked to shed light on the mental health needs of the Black community and other underrepresented communities. Learn more: mhanational.org/bebemoorecampbell

We encourage you to explore the information, learn more about these disparities, and help advance conversations that support equitable access to mental health resources for all.

Together, we can build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Mental illness doesn't discriminate. Access to care does.

This July, we're recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as , by looking at the data behind the disparities BIPOC communities face, and what's actually driving the gap in care.

At Partnership for Resilience, we know that strong relationships and supportive systems in the earliest years lay the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Congratulations to the Illinois Department of Early Childhood as they begin this important work. We're excited for this new chapter and the opportunities it creates to better support children, families, educators, providers, and communities throughout Illinois.
