Augustine Institute

Augustine Institute Helping Catholics understand, live, and share their faith. The Augustine Institute is bringing people to know and love God. Knowledge of God changes us.

From our foundation as a leading Catholic graduate school of theology, we've grown to become an educational apostolate defending and promoting the history and teachings of the Church through traditional and new media. We form leaders and grow the faithful. It grows our capacity to love God and others and creates a desire to be immersed in the Divine Truth, making it our first priority. You'll find

a friendly community of Catholics here, as well as materials and programs to help you and others enter more deeply into the life of faith. To paraphrase Chesterton, the moment you are fair to the Church, you begin to grow fond of it. Those who resist Catholic teaching do so mainly by walling themselves off from it. We help parishes and individual Catholics assess and share faithful and compelling content.

Why do theology teachers love our conference?

For the formation, the conversations, the prayer, the practical ideas, and the chance to step outside the day-to-day and invest in the work they’re called to do.

A strong curriculum does more than present information. It gives students a clear, consistent way to learn, understand, and apply what they are being taught.

Word of Life uses the Ecclesial Method across every grade, giving teachers a consistent pedagogical approach while helping students move from learning, to internalizing, to living the truths of the faith.

That consistency helps create a classroom environment where students know what to expect, build trust with their teacher, and are guided through each lesson with purpose.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo, patron saint of the Augustine Institute.

In The City of God, Augustine writes of the two cities formed by two loves: the earthly city by love of self, and the heavenly city by love of God.

As the patron saint of the Augustine Institute, St. Augustine holds a special place in our mission to help people understand, live, and share the Catholic faith.

St. Augustine, pray for us!

The New Evangelization is not something we carry out on our own. It is the work of the Holy Spirit, moving the Church to bring Christ to the world.
