Thank you to everyone that supported the Friends of Florida Cemetery Walk and Flea Market and Craft Show. The funds raised during that event helps maintain the Florida School House.

Good morning to everyone! Hope your Memorial Day weekend is going well. I wanted to take a moment and say a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE that was a part of our day at the Friends of Florida cemetery walk and craft fair/flea market.

To the vendors, we know there were other places you could have been, but we are glad you chose to spend the day with us in Florida MO and hope you will come back in the future.

To our food truck participants, D&R Concessions and One In A Slice, thank you for feeding everyone.

A special shout out to all of you that chose to share a portion of your day and visit us. Whether you stopped to browse or to buy, we hope you had a positive experience and will pay us a visit in the future.

And finally, to all of the Friends of Florida members and volunteers, none of the day's events would have been possible without your hard work and commitment to the group.

Several people have inquired about the location of the Cemetery Walk and Flea and Craft Fair. Florida, Mo is a small village surrounded by Mark Twain State Park in Monroe County, Mo. To get there, take Hwy 107 off of Hwy 24 from the North or Hwy 154 from the South. I have marked the locations in red on the map. The Flea and Craft Market will be at the School House.

Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 is a day to get up and out of the house to attend a number of events being held around Mark Twain Lake:

Perry Mo will be having their city wide yard sales
Windmill Campground on Route U will be having their Campground Garage Sale 8a - noon
Monroe City Mo is having their May Market at St. Jude Park
Florida Mo Winery will kick off its season of good times for all at 12 noon.
And don't forget to visit the Mo State Park Shrine (just follow the signs)

But……..and most important, you are all invited to Florida MO to take a walk through time at our 18th annual Florida Cemetery Walk from 10 am - 12 Noon. Re-enactors will be portraying the well known as well as less well known residents of our small village famously known as the birthplace of Mark Twain.
Additionally we will be hosting our 2nd annual spring flea market which will be held just down the road on the grounds of the Florida (one room) Schoolhouse from 9 am - 3 pm
(Note: Vendor space is still available. $35.00 for a 12x12 space. Come join us)

The cemetery walk and flea market are free to the public. Refreshments and baked goods will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of Florida organization in their upkeep and renovations of the historic schoolhouse, which will be open during the day's events.
Please share with your friends and family and we look forward to seeing you Saturday May 23rd from 9 am - 3 pm.
