Too often, we walk past or look away when we see a child panhandling, labeling it simply as “begging.” But it’s time to call it what it really is: child begging is one of the harshest forms of child labor.

A child who spends their days on the streets trying to survive is losing:

Their right to a proper education.

A safe environment to play and grow.

Their present, and the doors to their future.

This June 12th, on World Day Against Child Labor, we at Eve’s Project want to remind everyone that protecting the most vulnerable is a collective responsibility. Childhood is not up for negotiation; it must be protected.

🚫❌June 12 | World Day Against Child Labor

Every child deserves a childhood filled with love, education, play, and opportunity—not a life marked by labor and exploitation.

Today, we raise our voices for the millions of children around the world who are still deprived of their fundamental rights. At Eve’s Project, we believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment where they can dream, learn, and reach their fullest potential.

The fight against child labor is a shared responsibility. Together, we can build a future where no child has to sacrifice their childhood just to survive.

✨ Protect their childhood. Defend their rights. Build hope.

The numbers can be chilling, but relentless work is yielding real results. In 2025, the FBI successfully located over 6,200 missing children, identifying 2,700 of them as victims of exploitation.

This represents a 30% increase in recoveries compared to the previous year. Furthermore, a historic blow was dealt to criminal networks: hundreds of traffickers and predators were arrested, and over 3.8 million illicit dark web accounts were terminated.

The most alarming aspect is how these disappearances occur. Many cases involve people the minors already knew or begin with online deception where predators prey on their vulnerability.

The protection of human rights and safety in the virtual space are an absolute priority. Prevention starts when we open our eyes to this reality, talk to our youth about digital risks, and monitor who they interact with online.

A simple job ad on social media can quickly become a sentence of modern slavery. Recently, the Nepal Embassy in Bangkok rescued 257 Nepalis who were trafficked into illegal cyber scam centers across Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.

The testimonies and images of victims like Junaeid, who endured electric shocks, confinement, and constant torture for failing to meet forced labor quotas, expose a terrifying reality. Victims are lured with false promises of a better future, only to be held captive and forced to operate digital frauds under the threat of extreme violence.

This is not an isolated tragedy, nor is it a problem limited to just one region of the world. Vulnerability to digital deception is a global crisis that reaches right into our own smartphones. Trafficking networks use the exact same platforms we scroll through every day, targeting victims across all borders regardless of how developed a country might be.

Investigative journalism brings these horrors to light, but eradicating them requires our collective action. Through our prevention and awareness initiatives at Eve's Project, we actively advocate for digital safety, giving people the tools they need to identify fake job offers and protect themselves against international exploitation rings. Breaking the cycle of abuse starts with education.

This powerful report by 7NEWS Australia exposes a devastating reality: every year, 20,000 women and girls are trafficked from Nepal into horrific circumstances. But as the report itself explains, human trafficking is a holistic problem that goes far beyond a single geographic region or developing nations. It is an insidious epidemic hiding in plain sight, crossing borders, and operating right in our own cities.

This harsh reality uncovered by the media is exactly why the Stop Trafficking initiative by Eve's Project exists. While investigative journalism brings these crimes to light, our project focuses on direct action: tackling the root causes that put people at risk, educating communities to spot the red flags, and providing real prevention tools. Vulnerability has no zip code, and exploitation is a global business that we can only stop if we work together.

Educate yourself. Speak up. Join us.

How much longer will we call it "tradition" when it is actually abuse?

At just 19 years old, a young woman in Bangladesh was forcibly married to her 45-year-old maternal uncle. This is not an isolated incident; it is a stark reflection of a system that uses women as bargaining chips to keep family property intact and avoid dowry payments.

While we often view the family as a safe haven, for thousands of young women, home is the most dangerous place to be. Behind these deeply rooted practices are women being isolated, silenced, and stripped of their basic freedom by the very relatives who are supposed to protect them.

Forced marriage is not culture. It is a profound human rights violation and a modern form of slavery. It is time to expose, challenge, and dismantle the traditions that cost women their futures.

Help us raise awareness. Share this reality.

There is a false sense of security when we live in developed cities. We tend to believe child trafficking is just a movie script about distant lands. Yet, exploitation corridors operate in plain sight in major global powers.

Since 2020, recruitment has silently invaded our environments, and the mental control over these young girls is so brutal that three out of four fail to break the cycle after a rescue.

Dismantling this system also depends on us as a society. Do not assume someone else will step in. If you see signs of abuse, coercion, or suspect something is wrong, report it immediately.

Your voice could be someone's only hope for a permanent escape.

Behind every glance on the street, there is often a story of early neglect, unhealed childhood trauma, or an absolute lack of financial options. As the audio in this video reminds us: "Necessity is not freedom."

When society and circumstances strip away your choices, what looks like a decision is actually just survival. Let’s stop judging the surface, understand the root causes, and build real support systems.
We believe at Eve’s Project that there is always hope, you are not alone, and there is so much more that you can offer to the world.

Behind every statistic on child marriage is a real story of a childhood cut short. The footage circulating on digital platforms forces us to question the effectiveness of global protection policies and the need for stricter community oversight. How can we, within our digital and social networks, help expose and condemn these realities? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

The recent "Operation Tidal Wave" in San Diego, which led to the detention of 27 workers across eight different cruise ships (including Disney Cruise Line staff), highlights a disturbing reality: the ongoing danger of child po*******hy and exploitation in the digital world.

These crimes not only destroy innocent lives but thrive on mass distribution across digital networks. The intervention by Customs and Border Protection (CBP), sparked by critical alerts from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), reminds us of the urgent need to strengthen online safety regulations and digital surveillance to protect the most vulnerable. Fighting child abuse demands zero tolerance and relentless global cooperation.

The video and data featured in this post were obtained from the official report by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), alongside information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and eyewitness footage at the Port of San Diego.
